Albino Friend!

I was downloading a few old pictures from our California adventure this fall, and I ran into the ones I tried to take of an albino pug, with BLUE eyes that I met on the street...

Heyyyyy... Little pug, just look over here....

Oh. No. You are very wiggly... maybe if I  just get down on your level...

No?
Hmm... maybe if I have you pose with your little buddy....

Sigh. Well, your buddy is cute too. You much be very bashful about your beautiful eyes...

Then again, perhaps standing in front of a truck with the following sign is not the best place to try to photograph an eager pug:

Yep. Bacon. I was pretty wiggly with joy as well.

Destined to Repeat

In post celebration of Easter, I was lounging on the couch and eating some sweet tart ducks and chicks when Bean, in characteristicly subtle fashion, hinted that me might be interested in having a try...

... oh BEAN you clearly do not enjoy a sweet tart duck or chick! (I also enjoy how he looks at it as if it has utterly betrayed him by not being delicious).

And yet! What this video does not show is that the Bean kept returning over, and over, for yet another lick as if to prove that he in fact did not enjoy this tasty treat. (Actually, it really does show it - just keep pressing play over and over... same thing really!)

BEAN! you are a dog, your instincts are supposed to be smarter than a humans! You, unlike us, are supposed to learn by doing it just one ill pursued time, that something tastes bad... or like pure chemicals... or that frolicking after the wrong person/mastiff/squirrel will get you hurt... or that jumping into a lake of unknown depth could have very dire consequences! BAD pug!

Please in the future remember your place of teaching the humans to be better people!

Easter Baskets!!!

OHHHHH Frank and Bean! Whatever do you have there?!

Oh my! The Easter Bunny seems to have delivered a basket!!!
Actually, it was The Easter Grandma... (and by the way, when Frank and Bean's Easter basket arrived from their grandma, I was super excited about the egg cookie that she sent for me to enjoy. Good thing that when I opened the baggie in which it was delicately displayed the second one in the pack was shaped like a doggie bone to clue me in.... I wonder what our food would look like if the world were reversed and dogs owned humans, and fancy pet stores sold them food that looked delicious to them so that they bought it in order to treat us... Perhaps our cookies would all be shaped like raw steak and salmon skin... Mmm, yummy!)

Well, whatever the shapes, the cookies were VERY much enjoyed as were the Easter Bugs? Frank was delighted with the fact that the hoppy creature in his basket was a grasshopper, nor Bean the fact that his winged creature was a lady bug - hoppy bunnies and winged chicks are SO overdone!

Oh Frank! What a hip and fancy trendsetter you are!

A Reemergence for Spring!

Alright Frank fans, I'm just going to come out and say it... sometimes starting the blog back up after a brief hiatus is a rather daunting task. So, apologies aside (because certainly I would miss Frank were he not in my life for a day, let alone a month!) let me just say that for the months of April and most of May (except when I head to Germany for a week- "mops" is German for pug, by the way) you will be enjoying at least 2 blogs a week. Hopefully more.

However, to break the ice, I have posted two delightful pictures I found from our fall in San Francisco...

Observe the FINE posture of Frank's flexible and sprightly ears as he is captured mid frolic with his cousin Gus...

Oh FRANK! Such a specimen of canine prowess! Such an almost straight tail! Such pointed toes and alertness as you pounce from the ground with the greatest of ease!

And please observe in photo #2 how extremely helpful both Frank AND Bean are when it comes to morning shower time...

Oh Frank. That Towel was so clean just moments ago... and Bean, though adorable,  you really do not help with the drying process when standing in for the bath mat...

STAY tuned for scenes from Easter! Oh, and we have heard rumors that tomorrow (actually today at this point as it just passed midnight here) is "Barefoot Day?" or some such thing sponsored by Tom's shoes. Frank and Bean seem to think that Tom's Shoes are rather unattractive, but  they do feel it is a good cause, so, tomorrow they too will be going barefoot...
as usual...
but still...

Tom's Shoes - one day without shoes thing....

You can find Tom's shoes at our favorite shoe store, The Sneakery, which is our favorite not ONLY because they allow dogs inside but also because both Frank AND Bean are featured in sticker form on their counter! (Oh, and they have very cute sneakers of all kinds and socks as well).
